Ernest David Green is a tenured Assistant Professor in the Africana Studies Department. He holds a Ph.D. from Howard University (1997), a M.A. from Yale University (1989), and a B.A. from Hampshire College. Before joining the Brooklyn College faculty he was an Assistant Professor at Otterbein College in Westerville, OH. He has been awarded several grants to conduct research on the Black diaspora in Western Europe. His publications include “The Uses of Racism in American Society” (1998) and “Changing Racial Images in Dutch Art, 1600 to 1864.” (1998) He is currently working on an article entitled “Leopold Sedar Senghor and the Dialectics of Race” and a book-length manuscript, The Black Diaspora in Western Europe.
