The Africana Studies Department is dedicated to advancing the academic
and career goals of our students, promoting research and the
dissemination of knowledge in the field of Africana Studies and related

maintain and enhance academic quality, to assure a student-oriented
campus and to support the greater good of the citizens in the Brooklyn
community. Through our work as teachers in the various sub-fields
in Africana Studies, our individual research in these fields, and our
service to the campus community and the Brooklyn community at large, we
uphold the strategic goals of the College.
