Summer Seminar
Since 1976, the department has offered a 6-credit study-abroad seminar during the summer that has provided an in-depth experience in a selected country of the African diaspora in cooperation with a host institution. Summer seminars have taken place in Barbados, Brazil, Cuba, Ghana, Haiti, Jamaica, Panama, and Trinidad and Tobago. Most recently, students traveled to Ghana in the summer of 2005.
