BC-ARC
Brooklyn College Archeological Research Center
The Archaeological Research Center (BC-ARC) is presently involved in the analysis of materials fropm City Hall Park. The City Hall Park site contains Revolutionary era materials including the remains of the British barracks. The analysis will include cataloging, identification, basic conservation and in-depth analysis. Our class in Archaeological Laboratory techniques is offered during the fall and spring semesters.
The Brooklyn College Field School last summer excavated at the New Utrecht Church and uncovered the remains of a Revolutionary era Boys Academy.
For over 20 years Brooklyn College has been excavating throughout New York City and abroad. We have excavated in all five boroughs but our main focus has been Brooklyn. BC-ARC has excavated at numerous sites in Brooklyn to learn more about Brooklyn's rural Dutch past.
