What You Will Learn in the Field:

Mapping

Field School students will participate in all aspects of a research excavation.  They will not only learn to dig, but also to keep all of the records and draw the plans and profiles necessary for an archaeological excavation, to take elevations, and to clean, catalogue and analyze artifacts.  Weather permitting, we work outdoors Monday through Friday from 9-5, with orientation lectures at Brooklyn College and at the site. There is a midterm and a final, and students prepare and present final reports.

Both undergraduate and graduate credit are available. Please contact the Department of Anthropology for registration information.
