The issues discussed
at the Arts Of Democracy meeting today included the following:
---Subo outreach: we need to get a club room so that we may regularly
meet in Subo
----also the room is needed in order to accommodate all the non-Brooklyn
College students and new comers we are expecting for next Tuesday's meeting
---We need a print shop code: in order to make copies in the copy room
if needed to distribute flyers, etc...
---Also the back to school bash was held today in front of Subo Today,
Tashana and Seraphina handed out the flyer for the meeting on the 23rd
to clubs that were left at the club fair. Seraphina distributed the rest
of them in the Club mailboxes, mostly of the more political or ethnically
focused clubs.
----Back to school bash party on Thursday (8:30-12:30 in subo) is also
a good place to get ourselves out there by distributing flyers
----we also suggested that there should be some sort of voice message
service provided to us to allow us to inform ppl of the events of the
summit and A.O.D as well as, but limited to; inquiries, feedback, questions,
A.O.D meeting main points, meeting days, etc...
-----we must also establish who are the main contact person(s) from the
clubs in order to stretch our outreach
This is our proposed list of topics that can be discussed at the next
meeting, which will include people from off-campus groups as well as reps.
from clubs.
1. How groups can benefit from being involved in the summit and what they
can contribute to it.
2. The topical areas for breakout groups and the people who will lead
those groups.
3. What the website is and how it will function
4. The fact that we intend to be a club next year.
5. A plan of the events for the Summit
6. The goals of the AOD and the summit
7. Explain the issues (esp. for club reps) and why we are interested in
them as a BC community.
------Also ask Menser to kindly redistribute the original flyer he distributed
quite some time ago for the initial arts of democracy meeting, for it
contained valuable points to our ambitions
also we must know mutually what the club is about and the goals, ambitions,
intentions and ideas of the A.O.D project in order that all are well informed
for our own benefit as well as the benefit of having the knowledge to
increase our outreach
