Winter 2009-10 CUNY-BC China Program (Tentative Dates: December 28—January 22)

Total estimated program cost: only $2,798, which includes

  1. Round trip international airfare (New York to Beijing; Shanghai to New York; low airfare add-on is possible for departures from other airports);
  2. Tours and sightseeing in five famous cities of Beijing, Xi’an, Nanjing, Suzhou & Shanghai (all arranged by professional travel agencies, with excellent English-speaking tour guides and charter buses);
  3. Admission tickets to scenic spots in the five beautiful cities;
  4. Hotel rooms in China for 4 weeks (double occupancy in very nice hotels--single room for extra $580 and with program director’s approval.  We do not stay in dorms whose conditions are not what you want to enjoy);and
  5. Transportation within and between the cities in China.

 

Cost not included:

  1. visa
  2. insurance (about $50; not needed if your insurance covers international travel)

Payment Due Dates:

1.      $450, due with application before/on Oct 13, 2009

    1. Non-refundable if you are accepted into the program; will be refunded if you not accepted
    2. A $30 late fee applies to applications received after the deadline

2.      $1,200, second payment due Oct 17, 2009

a.       Late payment may lead to an additional charge for international airline tickets

b.       Second payment is not refundable after the airline tickets are issued

c.        Airline tickets purchased are not refundable or transferable

d.       A fee of $30 per week for late payment

3.      $1,148,  final payment due Nov 16, 2009

a.       Half of the final payment is refundable for cancellations made, in writing, before Nov 23, 2009

b.       None of the final payment is refundable if the participant cancels the trip, in writing, on/after Nov 23, 2009

c.        A fee of $50 per week applies to late payment

Notes:

1.       All checks/money order should be payable to “Brooklyn College.

3.       All bounced checks will be subject to a fee of $30.00; Late fees will apply to actual payment made after the deadline.

4.       If the exchange rates between US and Chinese currencies change by more than 2%, or, if the airline ticket fare goes up by 2% more than the estimated fare, the trip organizer reserves the right to adjust the trip cost accordingly.
