Application Instructions

2. Deliver or mail the completed application, along with your first payment, to:

     (Note: 1st payment of $450 will be refunded if you are not accepted. See “Cost & Payment” for more information.)

 

3. Your application should also include the following documents:

1). Letter of recommendation (it can be submitted separately a bit later; the letter writer can also email it to Prof. Lu),

2). Official transcript (OK to include a copy you print online and request an official transcript to be mailed a bit later), &

3). Personal statement (past examples: 1. Andrew; 2. Jessica)

 

The only requirement for the China program is a GPA of 2.5; students with GPA below 2.5 may enroll with the program director’s approval. There is NO Chinese language requirement (classes in China are conducted in English by Brooklyn College faculty).

 

Students, both graduate and undergraduate, from any school can apply. We accept applications from all CUNY campuses and any other colleges in America and treat all with the same criteria. Past participants included students from over 10 CUNY campuses and from Columbia Univ., many SUNY campuses, FIT, Cornell Univ., Rutgers Univ., Manhattan School of Music, Pace Univ., George Mason Univ., Colby College, Miami Univ., Syracuse Univ., etc.  (For the international flights to China, students from other schools can choose to depart from their local airport; they do not have to make a connection in NYC.)

 

Non-Brooklyn College students should speak to the Study Abroad Office on their campus before submitting applications to our program.
