Welcome to the
Magner Center for
Career Development and
Internships
To Brooklyn College Undergraduates, Graduate Students, and Alumni,
The recession is deepening. We haven’t hit bottom yet and New York City’s unemployment rate is already at 9.5% with higher numbers predicted to come. Some are predicting the recession may stretch into 2010. For those of you graduating in 2009 and 2010 the job market will be highly competitive with fewer entry level jobs available than in previous years. The situation demands quick and intelligent action on your part if you hope to land a job or internship by graduation or soon after.
There are many things you can do to prepare yourself for your prospective career and the job and internship search during the recession.
