Here is yet another computer-generated drawing
of the Theater of Dionysus in the middle of the first century AD.
From the last quarter of the fourth century, scenery painting no longer
covered the whole front of the skene , but was employed only on
panels (thyromata) situated between columns on the second story
of the skene. These painted panels with their limited size
were only partial views, which indicated what background the audience should
imagine as they watched the play.
