Submission Guidelines

The editors of the Brooklyn Review invite submissions of original, previously unpublished works of poetry, fiction, playwriting, and artwork. Please read the following guidelines before submitting your work:

Deadline

Submissions for the 27th issue of the Brooklyn Review will be accepted between September 1, 2009 and February 1, 2010.

How to Submit

All submissions must include a cover letter, a brief bio, name, address, email address, and phone number.

We do not currently accept electronic submissions of manuscripts, but artwork may be sent digitally at brooklynreview@gmail.com.

Please address your submission to the appropriate 2009 - 2010 editor:

Simultaneous submissions will beconsidered with notification of acceptance elsewhere.

Submission Length

Poetry: Up to 5 poems may be submitted per poet.

Playwriting and Prose: Up to 15 pages, double spaced, 12 point font.

Art: Up to five images may be submitted per artist. We accept Photography, Drawing, Painting,Prints, or photographic documentation of any other kind of artwork. Please send GrayscaleTIFF or JPG images of at least 300 dpi. please. Do not send original artwork or photographs. Notification Due to the large number of submissions, theeditors cannot comment on or return manuscripts or artwork.

Notification

Notification of submission status shall be conducted via email.
