Important Dates this Semester

Please take note of the following dates and deadlines, particularly if you’re planning to graduate at the end of this semester.  This information and more is available in the Spring 2012 Schedule of Classes.

• Friday, February 17, 2012, is the last date to file a Thesis Title form with the Graduate Deputy (2314 Boylan). It is available in the BC Portal (click eServices tab, choose Academic Forms from pull-down menu) or the English Graduate Office (2314 Boylan).

• Thursday, February 23, 2012, is the last day to register for the Comprehensive Examination and for absentee and Foreign Language examinations.  Foreign language candidates must register with the English Graduate Deputy (2314 Boylan).  Comprehensive Exam registration may be done online via the BC Portal.  MA students who entered in Fall 2010 or thereafter are not required to take the Comprehensive Exam.

• Tuesday, March 13, 2012, is the last date to file for Spring 2012 graduation (Registrar's Office, West Quad Building, or online via the BC Portal).

• The Foreign Language examinations will be given on Wednesday, April 4, 2012.

• The Comprehensive Examination will be given on Thursday, May 3, 2012 (Sabbath observers) and Saturday, May 5, 2012 (all others).

• Thursday, May 10, 2012, is the last day to file two copies of the approved thesis (Graduate Deputy, 2314 Boylan). They should be accompanied by the Approval of Thesis/Master Recital/M.F.A. Project form which must be signed by your advisor. The form is available in 2314 Boylan, or at the BC Portal under eServices and Academic Forms.

• Before beginning your thesis, pick up a copy of the "Instructions for Preparing and Filing the Master's Thesis," available in 2314 Boylan.
