Graduation
In order to graduate
at the end of the spring semester, you need to take note of the following
dates and deadlines:
- Wednesday, September
17, 2008, is the last date to file a thesis title form (Graduate Deputy,
2314 Boylan). Click here
for the form.
- Monday, September
22, 2008, is the last day to file for the comprehensive examination,
(MA English and MFA candidates file in the Office of Graduate Studies,
3238 Boylan; MA English Teacher candidates file with the School of
Education, 2105 James), as well as for absentee and language
examinations
(MA English candidates in French and Spanish must file
with the Graduate Deputy, 2314 Boylan). MA English and MFA students
can download the comprehensive registration form here.
- Wednesday, October
15, 2008, is the last date to file for Fall 2008 graduation
(Registrar's Office, 1118 Boylan).

The comprehensive
examination will be given on Thursday, November 6, 2008 (Sabbath
observers) and Saturday, November 8, 2008 (all others).

The language
examinations will be given on Wednesday, December 10, 2008.
- Wednesday, January
2, 2009, is the last day to file two copies of the approved thesis
(Graduate Deputy, 2314 Boylan). They should be accompanied by a form,
"Approval of Thesis/Master Recital/M.F.A. Project," which
must be signed by your mentor. The forms are available in 2314 Boylan.
- Before beginning
your thesis, pick up a copy of the "Instructions for Preparing
and Filing the Master's Thesis" (available in 2314 Boylan).
