Professor Napoli is a 20th century U.S. social and public historian, with research interests in the history of veterans and veterans' issues, the Vietnam War and the City of New York. In 2004-2005 he was a recipient of a Mrs. Giles Whiting Foundation (http://www.whitingfoundation.org) fellowship in recognition of his teaching. He holds a PhD. from Columbia University and arrived at Brooklyn College in 2001.
