Felipe Bravo is a Mexican ranchera singer who calls himself “El humilde ranchero.” Born and raised in San Miguel Tilapa, Puebla, in Mexico, he sang at school festivals during his childhood. In 1985, Bravo performed in a national event of Santa Ines, Texcoco; he went on to sing with the Mariachi Band, El Mariachi Real de Mexico, one of the country’s best-known mariachi groups. Bravo arrived to New York in 1988, and has performed as a singer at community and family festivals. He participates at Saint Jeronime Church, and works with Association Tepeyac of New York. Invited to sing on Univision’s “Estrellas al Despertar” Bravo’s repertory includes ballads, nortenas, rancheras, and boleros.
