  HAMLIN, ROSALIE MÉNDEZ (1945– )
A native of Klamath Falls, Oregon, this rock ‘n’ roll pioneer was born to an Anglo father and a Mexican mother. Hamlin’s 1962 hit recording, “Angel Baby” propelled Rosie and the Originals to the top of the charts. Considered by many Angelinos the “first lady of rock ‘n’ roll, Hamlin was featured in the film, Mi Familia and makes guest honor appearances at car shows throughout the Southwest. Hamlin is a music consultant at the Barrio Station Youth Center in San Diego, California.
