  LÓPEZ CÓRDOVA, GLORIA (1942– )
Born into a illustrious family of artists, López Córdova’s work is found in collections in the Museum of International Folk Art, the Museum of the Spanish Colonial Arts Society in Santa Fe, the Maxwell Museum of Anthropology in Albuquerque, the Millicent Rogers Museum in Taos, the Museum of the American West in Los Angeles, and the Smithsonian Institution. Contributing to the distinctive “Córdova style,” the artist’s own santos and animals, ornately carved and embellished have also attracted the attention of the art world. López Córdova received the Governor’s Award for Excellence in the Arts in New Mexico, and her work appears in postcards of the Library of Congress.
