Psychology Major Requirements
A MINIMUM OF 29-31 CREDITS MUST BE COMPLETED
I. All of the following (14 credits)
- Psychology 1.1 - Introduction
- Psychology 40.1 - Statistics
- Psychology 57.1 - Experimental
II. At least one of the following (3 credits)
- Psychology 10 - Social
- Psychology 20 - Child
- Psychology 30 - Abnormal
- Psychology 30.2 - Personality
III. At least one of the following (3 credits)
- Psychology 53.1 - Learning
- Psychology 56.1 - Perception
- Psychology 57.1 - Cognition
- Psychology 58.1 - Language
- Psychology 60 - Comparative
- Psychology 65.1 - Physiological
IV. At least three advanced electives
An Advanced Elective is any course numbered 10 and above except those marked with an asterisk (*) in the College Bulletin. Courses taken to fulfill other requirements do not qualify. Note: Only one course numbered in the 80's may be counted in fulfilling this requirement.
Note: Students must complete a minimum of 18 credits in advanced elective courses in psychology for the B.A. degree. For the B.S. degree, 24 credits in advanced elective credits are required.
Minor in Psychology
A minor in Psychology consists of a minimum of 12 credits in advanced electives with a grade of C- or better in each course. A minimum of 9 of these credits must be completed at Brooklyn College.
