INTERNATIONAL EXPERIENCE

2001-02       Advanced Seminar in Early Childhood in an International Setting

·         Participated in bi-weekly seminar examining
practice, research, and theory of curriculum and teaching in Japan

·         Visited Kindergartens and day care centers in Tokyo/Yokohama
region, Kyoto, and Hiroshima during ten days.  The Hiroshima visits
were done in cooperation with the Independent Day Nursery Association of Hiroshima.

 

RESEARCH EXPERIENCE

·         Conducted a project at the Rita Gold Early Childhood Center,

·         Worked with preschoolers and their parents for 16 hours a week in an inclusive and
culturally diverse child care setting.

·         Participated in team meetings and staff meetings to discuss curriculum and
plans for individual children.

·         Conducted small-group activities such as arts, music and cooking, and
supervised free play.

·         Spent 4 hours a week on research related to practice.

 

1/00-6/02     Stanely S. Lamm Preschool (Brooklyn, NY)

·         Taught a full-day preschool class and managed 12 children between
ages 3 and 5 with speech or other developmental delays.

·         Supervised two assistant teachers.
