Professor Parmar earned her master’s degree at The Pennsylvania State University in 1999 in Curriculum and Instruction/Curriculum and Supervision.  She continued her studies at Penn State and received her doctorate in 2002 in Curriculum & Instruction with an emphasis in Language and Literacy Education.  Her scholarly interests include critical, multiple literacies, multicultural education, youth culture, and other contemporary issues in the field of cultural studies in which economic, political, and social justice issues are addressed.
