Graciela
Elizalde-Utnick, Ph.D. is Assistant Professor and Coordinator of the
Bilingual Specializations in School
Psychology and School
Counseling at Brooklyn College, CUNY.
She is also Director of the Brooklyn
College Satellite of the Bilingual Psychological and Educational
Assessment Support Center. A
New York State certified bilingual school psychologist, she has over 16
years of experience with English language learners and their families.
She has expertise in culturally and linguistically diverse infants,
toddlers, and preschoolers with special needs and their families.
Scholarly interests and research include selective
mutism, language proficiency assessment, differentiating learning
differences from disorders in English language learners, home-school
collaboration, and the relationship between the individualism-collectivism
continuum and personal identity formation.
