Dissertation Topic
The dissertation examines the graphic development in paint of children between the ages of five to seven years. The study examines a phase of artistic development in early childhood where metasymbolic capacities emerge, enabling young children to construct a stable correspondence between their idea, the material, and the subject matter.

Professional Interests
Teaching expertise and interests include artistic and human development, interdisciplinary curriculum development, student teacher preparation, methods and materials. Establishing and supervising visual art lab-school and Saturday Studio classes. Have an extensive collection of children's artwork (pre-K-12) which is documented in slide, video, and digital image formats.

Responsible for placing students in the field and establishing and maintaining relations with teachers and schools.

Artistic Experience

1972-present 
ARTIST/GRAPHIC DESIGNER, freelance.
Personal artistic pursuits include drawing, collage, painting, silk-screen printing, and renovation of antique houses. Presently, studio work is in large, torn-paper collage figures from observation. Aesthetic vision plus appreciation and working knowledge of a wide variety of media. Experience in all aspects of school art including Super-8 film and digital animation. Extensive experience in curating and hanging exhibitions, both children and adult art students. Experience in studio critiques at the college level and a strong record of studio management and design. Design expertise in brochure and promotional materials production, logo design, and advertising layout.
