6.     Assessment or Evaluation Procedures:

        A clear system for how grades are determined. It can be points, percentages, rubrics, etc.
        NCATE wants data — that means they expect us to use an assessment system that can produce
        numbers of students who are at different levels. The idea is for it to be very explicit, and possible
        for you to aggregate candidates into 3 or more levels of performance:
                Examples:    1) Exceeded level, Acceptable level, Did not meet acceptable level.
                                    2) Accomplished, Proficient, Novice
                                    3) A, A-, B+, etc.

        That which differentiates levels of performance must be clear.

        Everything does not have to go on to a rubric, especially if you use only tests as your assessment system.
        But you might want a presentation or an essay to be graded through a rubric. This can become the portfolio
        for the candidate to take with them as they go forward to student teaching (if that is part of their program).
