Ed Morrill begins his fourth year as the Technical Director of the Scenic Studios at Brooklyn College. His long career (which began in 1956 as an actor) includes 40 years of experience in technical theatre production and design.  He has designed and/or overseen the construction of over 150 productions in New York City at the John Houseman Theatre, Grove Street Theater, Chelsea Playhouse, Theatre Off Park, Manhattan Class Company, Jewish Repertory Theater, Castillo Theatre and Riverside Shakespeare Company, among others.

He designed the sets for "ALI", which won both OBIE and AUDELCO awards in New York and played at London’s West End Mermaid Theater to outstanding reviews.

His current schedule includes the oversight of 9 productions with the Brooklyn College Theater Department, along with supporting the Performance and Interactive Media Arts (PIMA) December 2007 performance in the New Workshop Theater.
During his off time he has been the Production Designer for the soon to be released motion picture, "Red Legged Devils" and recently produced "The Price of Art", starring Louis Zorich. He was most recently a produced playwright for the "Gone in 60" play festival in June of 2007, for his play "John".

His love of theater and the stressing of making any production a team effort, is borne out in the creation of "The Red Shirt Brigade", a project dedicated to exposing students to all aspects theatrical production, be it directing, acting, designing or production skills.
