Alexandra Neil
Adjunct Lecturer, Acting for the Camera

Ms. Neil, holder of a BA from Williams College and a graduate of the conservatory of the National Theatre Institute, has appeared in ten feature films, working with directors Oliver Stone, Norman Rene, Arthur Hiller, Richard Pearce, and Michael Mann, among others. Her television credits include the CBS pilot Dudley, the NBC pilot Laurel Canyon, Law and Order, The Sopranos, and five contract roles in daytime drama. She has appeared in plays at the WPA, EST, Jewish Rep, Soho Rep, Actors' Theater of Louisville, Alley Theater, Syracuse Stage, and the Hartman Theater, among others. She wrote, directed, and produced Mad Road, a documentary film on Jack Kerouac, starring Sam Shepard and Allen Ginsberg. She has written two feature films, a short film, and a pilot for a dramatic series. She wrote and directed My Words in His/Her Mouth (Poetry Project at St. Mark's), Saints in the City (poetry Project and Sunday Series, M. Howard Studio), and directed Ring Lardner's The Bullpen (Poetry Project). 

In addition to her classes in the MFA program at Brooklyn College, Ms. Neil currently teaches "Acting with the Camera" at the Michael Howard Studio in New York City, at the National Theatre Institute at the Eugene 0'Neill Memorial Theatre in Waterford, Connecticut, and at Connecticut College.
