MARC ROUTH is one of the producers of COMPANY, HAIRSPRAY (Tony Award, Drama Desk Award, Drama Critics Circle, Drama League Award for Best Musical), and THE PRODUCERS (Tony Award, Drama Desk Award, New York Drama Critics Circle, Drama League Award, Dora Award [Toronto], Variety Critics Poll Award, Evening Standard Award, Helpmann Award [for Best Musical) on Broadway, PORGY AND BESS and LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS in the West End, the current New York and touring productions of STOMP (Drama Desk Award and Obie Award for Unique Theatre Experience)  THE FANTASTICKS and BE by Mayumana off-Broadway and THE PRODUCERS in Las Vegas. Upcoming producing projects include new musicals based on the films LEAP OF FAITH and THE HUDSUCKER PROXY; and the Las Vegas engagement of STOMP OUT LOUD.

His Broadway credits as Producer include SWEENEY TODD (Tony Nomination for Best Musical Revival), LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS, SWING! (Tony Nomination for Best Musical), THE WEIR, THE SOUND OF MUSIC (Tony Nomination for Best Musical Revival) starring Richard Chamberlain, and FOREVER TANGO.

His Broadway credits as Associate Producer include SMOKEY JOE'S CAFE (Tony Nomination and Olivier Award Nomination for Best Musical), A FUNNY THING HAPPENED ON THE WAY TO THE FORUM (Tony Nomination for Best Musical Revival) starring first Nathan Lane and later Whoopi Goldberg, THE TRIUMPH OF LOVE, and PENN & TELLER: THE REFRIGERATOR TOUR.

Other off-Broadway producer credits include COOKIN’, MNEMONIC (Drama Desk and Lortel Award for Unique Theatrical Experience), TAP DOGS (Obie Award), Paul Rudnick's THE MOST FABULOUS STORY EVER TOLD, the revival of Charles Ludlum's THE MYSTERY OF IRMA VEP (Lortel Award for Best Revival) Israel Horovitz's play MY OLD LADY, and the THE WATER COOLERS. He also produced the North American concert tour of David Helfgott (subject of the award-winning film SHINE), the tour and the Chicago productions of Frank McCourt's THE IRISH…AND HOW THEY GOT THAT WAY, the musical INSIDE OUT, and THREE FOR ALL, an off-Broadway play featuring Spain's acclaimed group EL TRICICLE. He was the Executive Producer of JEFFREY (Outer Critics Circle Award and Obie Award for Best Play) off-Broadway and in San Francisco, MARVIN'S ROOM by Scott McPherson (Outer Critics Circle Award and Drama Desk Award for Best Play) off-Broadway and at the Kennedy Center, and THREE WAYS HOME starring Mary McDonnell, S. Epatha Merkerson, and Malcolm Jamal-Warner.  West End Producer credits include THE PRODUCERS (Olivier Award), DOLLY WEST'S KITCHEN, THIS IS OUR YOUTH, OLEANNA, SIMPLY HEAVENLY, and IMMODESTY BLAISE AND WALTER’S BURLESQUE.

Other credits as Associate Producer and General Manager include LATER LIFE, SONG OF SINGAPORE (Outer Critics Circle Award for Best Musical), LOVE LETTERS, DAS BARBECU, BUBBE MEISES, BUBBE STORIES, and PENN & TELLER ROT IN HELL.

General Management projects include the revival of THE ROCKY HORROR SHOW on Broadway, THE BOMB-ITTY OF ERRORS, COMMUNICATING DOORS by Alan Ayckbourn, DEATH DEFYING ACTS by Woody Allen, Elaine May and David Mamet starring Linda Lavin and later Valerie Harper, FAMILY SECRETS by Sherry Glaser, WHAT'S WRONG WITH THIS PICTURE? by Donald Margulies on Broadway starring Faith Prince, GRANDCHILD OF KINGS, written and directed by Harold Prince, WILD MEN starring George Wendt, FRANKIE AND JOHNNY IN THE CLAIR DE LUNE starring Kathy Bates, DRIVING MISS DAISY, TWIST in Philadelphia, and I GOT MERMAN in Tokyo.

He is a partner in Richard Frankel Productions, which produced the Broadway and touring productions of ANGELS IN AMERICA, DAMN YANKEES and A COCKTAIL HOUR.

As co-founder for Broadway Asia with Simone Genatt, he has presented the North American tours of the VIETNAMESE WATER PUPPETS and COOKIN', as well as productions of STOMP, SWING! and SMOKEY JOE'S CAFÉ in Asia. As a principal of Broadway Asia Entertainment, he produced the ground-breaking Chinese language production of I LOVE YOU, YOU’RE PERFECT, NOW CHANGE and the upcoming tours of THE KING AND I and SPONGEBOB SQUAREPANTS LIVE.

He is a partner in On the Road, a theatrical booking agency, and was one of the founders of Showtix, a Broadway group sales company that was acquired by Hollywood Media.

He is an Adjunct Professor of the Graduate Department of Theatre Studies at Brooklyn College where he has taught "Business Management for the Performing Arts" for the last ten years. He has lectured at Columbia University, Youngstown State University, New York University and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
