A former Artistic Director of three theatres (two of them professional), educator, consultant, former National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) panelist/site evaluator, and published commentator. Former Senior Distinguished Producing Director-in-Residence, Emerson Stage – the producing wing of the Department of Performing Arts at Emerson College, Boston.

Numerous directing credits at professional regional theatres and universities throughout the U.S. He has served on numerous regional and national boards, including Theatre Communications Group (TCG). National and international adjudicator for the American Association of Community Theatre; Steering Committee member – National Alliance of Acting Teachers; Member – National Theatre Conference; Panelist – National Alliance for Musical Theatre; Member – College of Fellows of the American Theatre (induction April 2019).
