focuses on solving immediate crisis through referrals and/or counseling, the Brooklyn College Women’s Center is committed to adopting a wide-range of multi-dimensional needs-driven program activities that address the emotional, intellectual, physical and financial well-being of the whole person.  Our challenge is to create, promote, and organize programs that  raise awareness of women’s issues and in return empower participants to live a life that will reduce victimization, encourage self-sufficiency and independence, and model the skills to help women organize and sustain an environment of self-awareness where they are better able to maintain a healthy life style and make choices that will positively impact their own futures.

 

Program and Services

Daily Drop In: The Center houses the "Returning Women's Cafe", a multi-function drop-in lounge, the Alice Miller computer lounge, and a resource center. Coffee and tea are available during regular office hours.

    Hours: 

    Monday-Thursday 10:00-6:00 p.m.

    Friday   10:00-5:00 p.m.

    Additional hours available upon request

Crisis Intervention: The Center provides crisis intervention and advocacy services to Brooklyn College students on academic or non-academic related issues.

Performances, Workshops,and Special Events: The Center hosts a series of performances and workshops which cover a wide range of topics and interests, including: sexual harassment, financial planning, career planning, rape/domestic violence, sexuality and more. Check out our calendar!

Organization and Student Club Relations: The Center is home for many on campus student clubs and off-campus organizations. Contact us if you are interested in collaboration or to use our space.

Community Programming: The Women's Center offers technical and administrative support to organizations outside the Brooklyn College campus. Currently, we provide programming and administrative supervision to the Brooklyn New School After-School Center. We also run on-going workshops tailored to different organization's needs.
