Girls Fight Back! Yes I'm Pretty Enough:This is a half day or full day workshop addressing the issue of body image for young women. In this experiential workshop, participants will examine the impact of popular images on young women's self-esteem and expectations. Through introspective exercises, students will analyze the sources and the impact of gender stereotypes on their lives. They will also be involved in guided discussions using popular teen magazines to critically examine different aspects of stereoptypes. This age-appropriate workshop can be tailored to young women from 6th to 12th grade.
The Older Woman's League (OWL)
The Older Woman's League is a national membership organization dedicated to achieving economic, political, and social equity for mid-life and older women through education, research, and public advocacy. OWL is the only national grassroots group to focus exclusively on women as they age. Membership is open to individuals of all ages who share these concerns.
