NEW COURSE CLAS 3113; introduction to basic English terminology drawn from Greek & Latin for professional theory & practice in areas such as medicine, law, science, engineering, industry, communications, including media (advertising, journalism, television, theater), also critical argumentation, both cultural & political. Linguistic kinship in the Romance family between English, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, French; reference also the Indo-European family including Slavic, Germanic, Persian & Indic cousins. Tools for analysis by students of terminology current in their special fields.
