NSF Teaching Scholars

The New York Collaborative for Excellence in Teacher Preparation, funded by the National Science Foundation, is now in the fourth year of its five-year plan. While a primary goal is to improve the quality of teacher preparation programs in mathematics and science, a closely related goal is to attract more dedicated and talented students of mathematics and science into teaching as a career.
One means of accomplishing this goal is through support of Teaching Scholars. At each of six member campuses of the Collaborative, students are supported financially as they are exposed to exciting experiences involving teaching.
