The collection consists of oral history interviews from people who knew and worked with Chisholm. The Shola Lynch Collection, which is the memorabilia and documents Shola Lynch, the acclaimed film director of the 2004 award-winning documentary Chisholm ’72 Unbought and Unbossed collected while making her film. The Shirley Chisholm Project Collections are all housed in the Archives and Special Collections division of the Brooklyn College library which is open Monday thru Friday from 9AM-5PM. 5) Tell me about your ideas for K-12 curriculum.
The project for curriculum design, which is dedicated in loving memory to our colleague Dr, Marion Neville Lynch, who taught in the Brooklyn College School of education and who was a very early supporter of the project. 6) How did the Project come about?
The idea for an interactive oral history project developed during Barbara Winslow’s tenure as the coordinator of the Brooklyn College Women’s Studies Program. Along with a few colleagues, she was assigned the responsibility of developing a five year academic program including resurrecting the Center for Research on Women. It was obvious to all that Chisholm, a very distinguished alumni, feminist, and first African American woman elected to Congress, should have this center named after her.

Barbara Winslow is an Associate Professor in the School of Education and the Women's Studies Program at Brooklyn College. She served as the Coordinator of the Women's Studies Program from 2001-2009. Read More...
